Dissolve yeast in warm water before stirring in flour and grated cheese.
Knead dough on floured surface.
Break off small pieces of dough and roll into strands of about 30cm/12 inches long.
Then twist the dough strands into any shape you like (for example, if making for a child's lunchbox you could make their initials!) before placing on a lined baking tray, brushing with egg and sprinkling with sesame seeds.
Voila!
- 450g/1lb plain flour
- 175g/6oz cheddar cheese (grated)
- 300ml/10 fl oz warm water
- 1 packet dried yeast
- 1 beaten egg
- Sesame seeds
