Cheese and marmite soldiers

Butter both bread slices. On one slice, spread half with marmite (lengthwise) and cover the other half with the grated cheese. Top with the other slice of bread. Cut lengthwise into two rectangles then cut each rectangle twice to make soldiers, which you can pack alternately.
You don’t have to use two different types of bread, but it gives the soldiers a nice two-tone effect! Alternately, make the cheese soldiers on white bread and marmite on brown – a tasty combination!

- Cheddar cheese, thinly sliced or grated
- Marmite
